Suspension Page
Rear struts have Tokiko inserts with custom designed and built adjustable spring perches. I designed a custom short spring with the original diameter which allow the spring to sit above the tire. Spring rate is 190 pounds / inch.
Front struts also use adjustable Tokiko inserts in shortened strut housings to allow proper suspension compression without landing prematurely on the bump stops. I used the vented 11.2" rotors from the "phone booth" setup. I like them on the street but for serious track work, I would recommend larger rotors.
The front spring rates are 165 pounds/inch. The front and rear rates may seem too low to some people, but for the street and strip they offer a great compromise. Body roll is controlled with a 1 1/4" sway bar in the front and 3/4" bar in the rear. Natural frequency calculations show about 1.6 in the front and 1.75 in the rear.
For reference, Natural frequencies above 2 are race only and touring cars are about 1.25 to 1.4.
