SPRING CENTERING DEVICE MODIFICATION

Use a .625" drill ( 5/8" ).  Extend the counterbore .50 ( 3/8" ).

Drill from the end shown.  Drill into the plastic 3/8" deep.

This very slight modification will allow the white centering piece to go down an extra 3/8" on the inner rod during reassembly.  This will allow room to put the polyurethane spacer on top of the centering piece.

Stack the parts like this with the polyurethane sleeve on top of the spring centering piece.

This mod will greatly improve the bottoming resistance of your Yamaha forks.  It will usually eliminate the metal to metal contact.
