The car was purchased with a muffler shop 2 1/2" exhaust system which was not tucked up into the tunnel very well. Consequently I could not install the body stiffener which is essential to a convertible. I purchased the mandrel bends and straight pipe required to fabricate the system. The long branch cast iron exhaust manifolds have a ball flange connection so I had a muffler shop make some ball flange adapters.
I made the center section with flange mounts at both ends so it would be easy to remove for future driveline maintenance. The H Pipe section and mandrel bends were purchased from Summit.
This photo shows the 2 1/2" pipe nestled in the tunnel with just enough clearance for the body stiffener.
I left the tail pipes alone but did insure that the mufflers were even.
